COMMUNITY BACKSTORY

In the early 1900s, the Midland Valley Railroad, along with its infrastructure, built community sites, one of which was Jenks. The town was named after the Railroad owner, William Henery Jenks. Though small, the town saw its fair share of struggles from waning oil deposits to severe flooding, but it managed to survive and grow into a thriving community and integral extension of Tulsa.
